June 7 – Doughnut Day

Standard

This holiday goes back to the Great Depression. In the U.S. the Salvation Army honoured the ladies who served men fighting in WWI doughnuts by creating this holiday to raise funds for the needy during the Great Depression. This holiday was first celebrated in 1938 and even now some companies offer free doughnuts in celebration of this event. Want free doughnuts?
